Our Story

The business was founded by Oxana Filippova and Jacques van der Heyde, who share an appreciation for fine wine, have a passion for exploring life beyond the obvious and enjoy connecting people across cultures.

Oxana spent more than twenty years in the Russian hospitality industry and completed sommelier training, which strengthened her understanding of the world of wine.

Jacques has been involved in the Cape wine industry for over two decades, including operating a wine export business, developing Winelands property and investing in a Cape wine brand.

They got married and live together in Cape Town, at the gateway to one of the world's most exciting wine regions.

Since moving to South Africa, Oxana has led a number of wine tours for visiting guests, sharing the beauty of the Cape Winelands and introducing visitors to the wines, cuisine and culture that make the region so special. This inspired the creation of wineQ.

Oxana and Jacques deeply believe that Wine has a unique way of bringing people together, and the Cape provides the perfect setting for those connections to happen.
